hello from the midwest!

  • Hi, I'm Sarah. I'm 17, I'll be 18 in September. I haven't seen Simple Plan live, but I've been a fan of theirs for about 5 years[my best friend went to see them at the Illinois State Fair, and she called me from the concert. I would've gotten to go if her dad had said something prior to the concert, but he waited until they were already there to tell her she could've brought me]. I live in a small town in Illinois. I'm a junior, but I'm homeschooled. I was pulled out of school by my parents, and my oldest sister [she's 35] teaches me.

As of right now, my life is pretty hectic. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday mornings, I babysit a little boy before he goes to school. Thursday, Friday, {and basically whenever they need me - if I'm available}, I babysit three kids from 2:30 to midnight. I also babysit my four nephews [ages 5, 4, 2, and 1] when my sister and my brother-in-law need me.

I have school Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings, from 3:45 - 6, and I volunteer at the First Baptist Church food pantry on Wednesdays and Fridays. I go to church on Sundays, from 10am to 1pm, and then usually I babysit Sunday evenings from 5:30 - 8:30. I attend church at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. There are a lot of preconcieved notions about being Mormon, but I can assure you, I am not getting married any time soon, nor do the men have multiple wives.

I have hopes of going to college and getting my associates degree in childcare, which I can do at the community college in two years.

One of my best friends, Keith, is the drummer of a local band from Pekin. They're on tour right now, going to schools with a program that spreads positive message. The band is called Shade Tree, and you should check them out at www.shadetreemusic.com or www.myspace.com/shadetreemusic

If you want to know anything more, let me know. I'm pretty open and honest about everything, so just ask.

not too bad, getting to 70 during the day.
the sucky thing is that we can't open the windows, they're screwed shut & painted shut on the outside. :[

we turned on the CA today, just to cool down the house a bit, and it smelled musty. like what our garage smelled like when we cleaned it out.

but the landlord's a heating/cooling/plumber, so he said back in jan, that he'd fix it.

That blows lol. I actually turned my ac on in my car for a few minutes yesterday just to cool it down. It's been so nice here, but cause I live in New England I'm sure it won't last lol.

btw. around here, the heat doesnt get too bad. its the humidity that's so horrible.

the coolest thing about the flood was, the morning we were emergency evacuated with about a foot of water, there was a guy rowing a boat down the street. :]

and our house sits pretty low, the water was right under out front door[we have three steps leading up to our front door, then a little entry way.] but no water got inside, it was right under our door.
